It was a real day to forget for Stoke City striker Jonathan Walters as he scored two own goals and missed a late penalty en route to the club's 4-0 loss to Chelsea at the Britannia on Saturday.
The Potters looked as if they would make it to the halftime break on level terms with the Blues, but Walters headed César Azpilicueta's cross beyond his own goalkeeper Asmir Begović.
It's an absolute bullet header, it's just unfortunate it was at the wrong end.
It got worse for the Irishman as grabbed a second own goal just after the hour mark, nodding beyond Begović under pressure from Frank Lampard after a corner.
And then, with Stoke trailing 4-0, Walters had the chance to redeem himself for at least for one of his own goals when he was brought down by John Terry inside the penalty area.
But the 29-year-old compounded his misfortune by blazing the spot-kick over, endangering stewards in the stand behind the goal.
Many have asked in the aftermath of the game, whether it was the worst individual performance in Premier League history.
In the official Fantasy Premier League game, the former Ipswich Town striker ended the match with minus four points!
Stoke manager Tony Pulis, though, is confident Walters will recover from his horror show.
Pulis told Sky Sports: "Jon's fine. We look after people at the football club. It wasn't our day today, it was Chelsea's day."
