Youssef Msakni scored a wonderful last minute winner to give Tunisia a 1-0 win over neighbours Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations Group D match in Rustenburg on Tuesday.
Algeria were the better side over 90 minutes, but could not make much of their possession.
The game seemed to have petered out until Msakni settled the affair with a classy finish in stoppage time.
Msakni, a recent $15 million signing for Qatar club Lekhwiya, has a reputation for producing pieces of magic in African club competition over the last years but this time left his creativity until right at the end.
Picking up the ball some 30 yards from goal, the winger cut inside on to his right foot before curling a peach of a shot in from the outside of the box with the ball thudding into the top corner of the Algerian net.
It was a moment of rare quality to delight the fans inside the Royal Bafokeng Stadium after the previous 90 minutes had been littered with fouls and misplaced passes.
"I told them Msakni could cause trouble with his right foot and we were a little naive at the moment that decided the game," Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodžić told reporters after the match.
