A Fredy Guarín blockbuster inspired Inter Milan to a 3-2 extra time success over Bologna at the San Siro in the Coppa Italia quarter-final on Tuesday evening.
The Nerazzurri were slow to start but, despite struggling early on, they broke the deadlock in the 34th minute with an absolute screamer.
Receiving a pass from Antonio Cassano, Guarín skipped past a couple of Bologna defenders before unleashing an unstoppable rocket into the top corner.
Rodrigo Palacio doubled Inter's lead on 77 minutes with a brilliant solo effort, but Alessandro Diamanti's late free-kick gave the visitors hope and Manolo Gabbiadini leveled the score.
The match went to extra time and, with a penalty shootout just seconds away, Andrea Ranocchia leapt above the Bologna defense to give Inter the win.
