The Stallions took the lead on 34 minutes when Traoré latched onto a lofted through-ball and fired into the top corner.

However, Burkina Faso suffered a major setback on the hour-mark as Abdoulaye Soulama was shown a straight red card for a careless handball outside his penalty area.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, though, Burkina Faso stretched their lead on 74 minutes with one of the goals of the tournament.

Jonathan Pitroipa laid off the ball on the edge of the area with a deft touch and Traoré ran onto it, letting fly a vicious a 30-yard shot that found the top left-hand corner of the goal.

Djakaridja Koné made it 3-0 moments later before Pitroipa put the icing on the cake in injury time.

"Alain is a very good player. He's very good for the team, and as a midfielder I like to work with a player like Alain," Koné said after the game.
