Lionel Messi came off the bench to help a short-handed Barcelona win 4-1 against Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Messi was introduced just before the hour mark and scored a penalty in the 74th minute and the third goal four minutes later to decide the contest and take his league-leading tally to six.
A Javier Mascherano own goal robbed the visitors of a clean sheet, but David Villa rounded off the win in the closing moments.
