Perhaps there are few more dedicated supporters than Birmingham City fan Rob Shannon, who has not missed a single game, home or away, since 1974.
That equates to a staggering 1,800 matches in a row and has seen Mr Shannon travel to places such as Slovenia, Belgium and Portugal, which he all enjoyed last year when the Blues qualified for the Europa League.
"My parents took me to see Birmingham when I was four years old and I've been hooked ever since," the 53-year-old told the Daily Star.
"Tradition keeps me going back. I always go with the same group of friends and it's a good laugh."
Mr Shannon estimates that he has seen Birmingham about 2,500 times in total and his streak would have stretched back even further had he not been too sick to attend a clash with Queens Park Rangers in September 1974.
He refuses to let medical ailments stop him any more, though - he even once discharged himself from hospital to travel to an away game at Swansea City.
And Mr Shannon, who was also club mascot for five years, has no trouble naming his favourite match.
He said: "My highlight without a shadow of a doubt was winning the League Cup final in 2011 when we beat Arsenal. I never thought we would lift a major trophy."
