Goal of the day: Zlatan Ibrahimović (Sweden) vs France
Table of Contents
Zlatan Ibrahimović scored one of the best goals of Euro 2012 as Sweden bounced back from a disappointing Group D campaign to beat France in Kiev on Tuesday.
Erik Hamrén's men, who have already had their elimination confirmed after losing both of their games so far, frustrated the French side in the first half.
And nine minutes into the second half, Ibrahimović produced a blockbuster of a strike to open the scoring.
Kim Källström found Sebastian Larsson in space down the right and the Sunderland winger delivered a cross towards Ibrahimović.
The AC Milan striker met the cross and put himself nearly sideways in the air before striking the ball perfectly past a helpless Hugo Lloris in the France goal.
Sweden then defended well, and even knocked in a second through Larsson, forcing France to qualify as group runners-up with England beating Ukraine.
Regarding his goal, Swedish skipper Ibrahimović said: "A great cross from Seb, like the one against Iceland but then I shot with the left.
"Now I shot with the right and it went in the goal."
