Seattle Sounders defender Patrick Ianni scored a goal of the season contender in a 1-1 draw at home against Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday.
The visiting side opened the scoring after Jacob Peterson capitalised on a ball that landed at his feet in the box in the eighth minute.
Seattle bounced back quickly though and got a tremendous goal form an unlikely source.
In the 15th minute, Mauro Rosales lofted a free kick in from the right side that found Ianni essentially all alone about eight yards out.
While falling away from the goal, Ianni managed to get full force behind his volley to easily beat Sporting goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen.
"It was just a good ball by Mauro and it came a little behind the line," Ianni said after the match.
"I think Zach (Scott) and Brad (Evans) were going, and maybe Eddie (Johnson) too, and brought their defenders with them and it just kind of snuck through to me.
"I thought, if it comes all the way through, I'm just going to get good contact on it and put it on frame and fortunately it went in."
When asked if it was the best goal he ever scored, Ianni let out a big grin.
"Yeah, definitely," he said. "Best goal in practice, games since I was born, yeah."
Rosales added: "It was amazing. It was the same goal like Zlatan Ibrahimović's. I think he didn't want to be less than him."
