Worst miss you've seen all season: Byron Moore (Crewe) vs Southend
Table of Contents
Crewe Alexandra booked their place in the League Two play-off final at Wembley despite the best efforts of Railwaymen striker Byron Moore to bungle it for his side.
AJ Leitch-Smith gave Crewe a precious lead at half-time against Southend United at Roots Hall on Wednesday.
That made it 2-0 on aggregate and it could have been even better for the Railwaymen when Southend goalkeeper Cameron Belford made a right old mess of his clearance.
Rather than whacking the ball upfield, Belford scuffed his effort straight into Moore's path and the striker looked destined to plant his effort into the gaping net.
But Moore's composure deserted him as he somehow skied his effort miles over the bar when he could have sidefooted it just about anywhere in the goal.
Luckily for Moore, the game ended in 2-2 draw as Crewe squeaked past Southend to reach the League Two play-off final.
