The tie was already as good as over after three late goals by the Spanish giants in the first-leg and from the moment Cristiano Ronaldo scored midway through the first half it was just a question of how many.

Kaká doubled the lead with a shot from the left edge of the area on 37 minutes before Gustavo Manduca pulled a goal back for the visitors with 23 minutes remaining.

But Ronaldo soon put an end to any hopes of a heroic comeback as he added a third with a perfectly taken free-kick from wide on the left.

Substitute José Callejón scored from an individual run in the 80th minute to re-establish the three-goal advantage, but the Cypriots responded again and got their second goal when Esteban Solari netted from the spot.

However, Ángel di María had the final say when he rounded off a fine night for the nine-time winners as he lofted a wonderful chip over Urko Pardo.
