Indian footballer collapses and dies, days after Muamba collapse

Just days after Fabrice Muamba's near-fatal experience at White Hart Lane, an Indian footballer has died after collapsing on the field.
D Venkatesh, 27, who was playing for local club Bangalore Mars, met a tragic death moments after collapsing during a Bangalore District Football Association "A" Division League match on Wednesday.
With no ambulance present at the stadium, Venkatesh was taken to the Hosmat Hospital in a three-wheel auto-rickshaw.
Venkatesh was pronounced dead by doctors on arrival at the hospital.
"Maybe if he had been given oxygen or proper medical care at the time of the incident, he could have stood a chance," Dr. Ajith Benedict Royan of Hosmat Hospital was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
The All India Football Federation then issued a statement.
"The AIFF prays for his departed soul," the statement said. "May he rest in peace."
