AS Roma talisman Francesco Totti made history on Saturday by breaking Gunnar Nordahl's 210-goal record with one Serie A club.
The 35-year-old struck twice in the opening minutes of Roma's 5-1 win over Cesena to overtake the legendary Swede at the top of the list of one-club marksmen in the Italian top flight.
Nordahl's record, which he set with AC Milan between 1949 and 1956 before finishing his career with Roma, had stood for over half a century until Totti's second goal on Saturday.
Totti has now scored 211 goals in 486 league appearances for the Giallorossi, boasting a strike every 0.43 games.
"It's what I always wanted: to play for one club and break record after record," Totti told Sky Sport Italia.
"Besides, it is even more wonderful to score in front of these fans."
On the overall scoring list, Totti was fifth, trailing only Silvio Piola (274 goals), Nordahl (225), Giuseppe Meazza (216) and José Altafini (216).
