Cristiano Ronaldo scored his fifth hat-trick of the season as Real Madrid routed Sevilla 6-2 at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, with both teams finishing the match with 10 men.
The Portugal forward opened the scoring after 10 minutes before José María Callejón got a toe to Ángel di María's long ball to make it 2-0 in the 37th minute.
Three minutes later Ronaldo got his second of the game and Real's third, receiving the ball 30 yards out before firing a rocket into the top corner.
The visitors suffered a blow just before half-time when Pepe was sent off for a second bookable offence, but it did not stop the goals as the impressive di María added a fourth on 65 minutes.
Jesús Navas pulled one back for Sevilla three minutes later, but any hopes of a comeback were doused when Manu del Moral was harshly shown a straight red card for a trip from behind on Álvaro Arbeloa.
Ronaldo completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot with five minutes remaining before substitute Hamit Altıntop netted the sixth, with Álvaro Negredo's 91st minute strike coming as little consolation for the hosts.
