Crystal Palace midfielder and Wales International Andy Dorman was out of favor and short on match fitness, so the club arranged for him to go on loan to Bristol Rovers.

On learning of a potential move to the Pirates, the 29-year-old jumped at the chance, but in his eagerness to secure some regular playing time, he forgot to do his research and expected to be moving down just the one division.

Instead, his loan switch will send him down two divisions because Rovers are now a League Two side.

"If I am being honest, I thought the club were still in League One," Dorman told BBC Radio Bristol.

"But I have got that chance to move them up the table and I am just looking forward to playing and doing well."

Dorman will stay with the club until January 2nd when the deal runs out - whether he likes it or not.
