Premier League: Liverpool 1-1 Man United
Table of Contents
Defending champions Manchester United had to come from behind to avoid a fourth straight defeat at Anfield and remain unbeaten this term with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool.
There was little goalmouth action in the first half but the match exploded into life after the interval, with Steven Gerrard breaking the deadlock from a free-kick in the 68th minute on his return to the Reds' starting XI.
Wayne Rooney, surprisingly left out of the United line-up, was finally brought on as Sir Alex Ferguson went in search of an equaliser, but it was fellow substitute Javier Hernández who pounced from a corner nine minutes from time to even up the scores.
