Inter Milan have claimed only one point from their opening three league games following a 3-1 defeat at newly-promoted Novara.
Riccardo Meggiorini put the hosts ahead on 38 minutes before Marco Rigoni made it 2-0 from the penalty spot four minutes from time with the Nerazzurri reduced to 10 men with Andrea Ranocchia sent off.
Inter pulled a goal back through Esteban Cambiasso three minutes later to set up a grandstand finish, but Novara put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time with Rigoni tapping in to secure all three points.
