David Beckham goes geeky for Ellen DeGeneres Show
Table of Contents
Soccer superstar David Beckham took some time out from LA Galaxy training to pose as a perfume salesmen for hidden camera sketch on the Ellen de Generes Show.
Playing a character called Ricky, Beckham was almost unrecognisable as he stood in the cosmetics aisle at a branch of Target and offered passing customers a sample spray of his own fragrance Homme.
Ellen directed what Beckham said and did by issuing instructions through a speaker in his hat.
Unsuspecting customers chatted with the ex-Manchester United midfielder as he tried his hardest to make a few sales.
Beckham tried to explain away his dodgy accent by telling shoppers he was Australian, but was nearly rumbled when one woman told him he sounded "very English".
When he was challenged on his true identity by an observant shopper, the former England captain removed his hat and glasses to shocked passers-by.
