André Villas-Boas enjoyed his first win as Chelsea manager after a hard-fought 2-1 win at home against plucky West Bromwich Albion.
The Blues stumbled out of the traps at Stamford Bridge, with Shane Long firing the visitors in front after just four minutes.
Chelsea hauled themselves level eight minutes into the second-half when Nicolas Anelka's low shot deflected off the Jonas Olsson's leg and rippled the net just inside the near post.
And the goal the home fans had been crying out for finally arrived on 84 minutes as Florent Malouda duly bundled home at the back post with six minutes remaining following some good work down the right by José Bosingwa.
