Pavel Nedvěd: Players to blame for Juventus woes
Table of Contents
Juventus legend Pavel Nedvěd was harsh on the struggling Turin giants after their failure to qualify for Europe.
The Bianconeri lost 1-0 to Parma in Serie A on Sunday and could fail to qualify for next season's Europa League.
And Nedvěd - who made over 240 appearances in eight years as a Juventus player - believes the responsibility fell to the players, who failed to meet the expectations set at the 27-time Serie A winning club.
He told reporters: "The team have gone missing. We made ourselves heard in the newspapers more than on the field of play.
"We weren't lacking just a bit of character, but all of it.
"The new players haven't understood what it means to play in this shirt, while the older players have forgotten.
"The anger that we are feeling is normal because the results have been very disappointing. Now we have to work on the future."
