Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeneß has confirmed that Schalke 04 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is one of the candidates to strengthen the German giants this summer.
Bayern have long been linked with a move for Schalke goalkeeper, while Schalke president Clemens Tönnies recently confirmed that Premier League table toppers Manchester United have also expressed an interest in the 24-year-old.
"We haven't made any signings yet. We all know that we can't do any transfer business now the market's closed," Hoeneß told Sportinformationsdienst.
"This doesn't stop us from making plans for the future, though, and we're thinking about signing a goalkeeper for the new season.
"I can reveal that Schalke's Manuel Neuer is one of the candidates to join us."
