Bacary Sagna scored a rare goal as Arsenal survived an Everton fightback to win 2-1 at Goodison Park.
French full-back Sagna opened the scoring with a ferocious strike in the 36th minute before Cesc Fàbregas doubled Arsenal's lead three minutes into the second half after exchanging passes with Marouane Chamakh.
But Everton increased the pressure late on and Łukasz Fabiański pulled off a string of top-class saves before Tim Cahill netted a consolation goal a minute before full-time.
