Cesc Fàbregas marked his return from injury with a goal as Arsenal claimed a 5-1 home triumph over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League Group H.
Alex Song fired Arsenal ahead in the 19th minute following an error by goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov and Samir Nasri doubled the advantage with an emphatic finish on 42 minutes.
Returning captain Fàbregas lashed home a third from the penalty spot after Luiz Adriano was penalised for wrestling down Johan Djourou in the box just prior to the hour mark.
