AC Milan new boy Zlatan Ibrahimović has revealed he snubbed a possible move to Manchester City because of their lack of title credentials.
City were reported to be interested in Ibrahimović following confirmation that the Swedish international would be leaving Barcelona after falling out of favour with coach Pep Guardiola.
However, the 28-year-old opted to snub them for Milan because he does not feel the Eastlands outfit are ready yet to challenge for the Premier League title.
Ibrahimović told the press: "City must fight Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal - sides which took years to build.
"City are still a side for the future. I chose Milan because they are a team that can win prizes now.
"City can wait for the future but I can't."
