Santos have confirmed that they have rejected a €15 million bid from Premier League outfit West Ham for Brazilian starlet Neymar.
The 18-year-old forward has been linked with moves to some of Europe's leading clubs after emerging as the next wonderkid on the production line of Brazilian football.
Neymar had been the subject of interest from Real Madrid last season, but a move to the Spanish giants did not come to fruition.
Now it appears the Hammers have tried to pull off a transfer coup for the talented player - which has been rejected.
Santos sporting director Pedro Luiz Nunes told the Brazilian media: "We received an offer from West Ham for Neymar worth €15 million.
"Our position is clear, we have not, and do not, want to open negotiations.
"On several occasions now we have said that we will not negotiate, and this needs to be clear."
Neymar scored 27 goals in 29 appearances for Santos last season and eyebrows were raised when he was left out of coach Carlos Dunga's World Cup squad for South Africa.
