Cesc Fábregas nears Barcelona return?

Cesc Fábregas’ seven-year reign at Arsenal will come to an end as early as this summer after the Spaniard has made it clear to Arsène Wenger that the time is right for him to rejoin boyhood idols Barcelona.
Reports in England on Wednesday claim Fábregas delivered the devastating news when he returned to London for medical tests on his fractured leg, suffered against Barça in March.
Fábregas, who arrived from the Camp Nou as a 16-year-old, is believed to have met with Wenger at Arsenal's training ground on Tuesday to inform him of his desire to return to Barcelona.
Arsenal have been consistently resistant to losing Fábregas but they will effectively have little choice but to sanction a transfer now that the 23-year-old has made it clear he does not wish to stay.
Fábregas, who has four years to run on a contract signed back in 2006, has long dealt with the constant rumours of him returning to Spain, but always reiterated his commitment to the Gunners.
Last week, however, the player himself delivered something of a mixed message when speaking at an event near the Spanish city, claiming he would only leave Arsenal for Barcelona - the club he has adored since childhood.
He said: "I have never hidden the fact that playing for Barcelona is a dream that I would like to fulfil and if I must leave Arsenal it would only be to play at Barça."
