La Liga: Almería 2-2 Barcelona
Table of Contents
Lionel Messi scored two equalisers to ensure Barcelona earned a 2-2 draw with Almería in a match blighted by some curious refereeing decisions.
Domingo Cisma had put Almería in front in the 12th minute, but the balance was redressed three minutes before half-time when Messi curled home a free-kick harshly awarded for a foul on Zlatan Ibrahimović.
The home side regained the lead 12 minutes into the second period as Barcelona captain Carles Puyol inadvertently poked the ball into his own net as he attempted to clear.
Things soon got worse for the visitors when Ibrahimović was shown a red card in the 61st minute for an off-the-ball clash.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Barça got back into the game almost straight away with Messi poking from close range after Guilherme had failed to clear Pedro's cross.
