Napoli stretched their unbeaten run to 14 matches in Serie A with a 2-0 victory at struggling Livorno.
The visitors made the breakthrough in first-half stoppage time as Salvatore Aronica hit a long pass from the back and Christian Maggio swerved a delightful volley into the top corner.
Livorno were handed a route back into the match when Michele Pazienza brought Martin Bergvold down in the area after 54 minutes, but Cristiano Lucarelli saw his spot-kick saved by Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.
In the closing minutes, Livorno goalkeeper Alfonso De Lucia was sent off for a deliberate handball. Midfielder Davide Marchini went in goal but could do nothing to stop Luca Cigarini scoring with a freekick.
