Serie A: Inter Milan 2-0 AC Milan
Table of Contents
Nine-man Inter Milan took a step closer to the Serie A title by beating city rivals AC Milan 2-0 at the San Siro.
Diego Milito gave the Nerazzurri the lead in the 10th minute, but they were forced to play over two-thirds of the game with 10 men after Wesley Sneijder was sent off for sarcastically applauding referee Gianluca Rocchi.
But Milan failed to capitalise on their numerical advantage and they fell further behind on 65 minutes when Goran Pandev curled home a fine free-kick.
The Rossoneri had a late chance to salvage some pride, but Ronaldinho's penalty was saved by Júlio César after Lúcio had been shown a second yellow card for a deliberate handball.
