Manchester United missed a chance to go top of the Premier League after being held to a 1-1 draw at in-form Birmingham City.
The Red Devils dominated possession from the first whistle but failed to score and Cameron Jerome punished the visitors on 39 minutes when slotting home from close range after United failed to clear a corner.
But the champions levelled on 63 minutes when Scott Dann turned Patrice Evra's low drive into his own net.
Birmingham's players surrounded the referee after the equaliser, believing Wayne Rooney was offside, but Mark Clattenburg allowed the goal to stand after consulting one of his assistants.
United ended the match with 10 men after midfielder Darren Fletcher saw red on 84 minutes for a second bookable offence.
