Michael Owen grabbed a hat-trick to give Manchester United a 3-1 win at VfL Wolfsburg to take first place in Group B of the Champions League.
Owen opened the scoring for the visitors two minutes before half-time, only for Edin Džeko to restore parity ten minutes after the break.
United regained the lead in the 83rd minute when substitute Gabriel Obertan demonstrated brilliant foot work down the left before setting up Owen at the far stick.
Then, in injury-time, Sascha Riether somehow missed a four-yard open goal and Owen was sent free down the left flank to sprint through and send a delectable chip over the onrushing Diego Benaglio.
