Ronaldo replaces Beckham as Armani underwear model

Soccer heartthrob David Beckham has been replaced as the spokesmodel for Emporio Armani men's underwear and jeans by Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder had posed seductively in Armani underwear ads for the last four seasons, but on Friday designer Giorgio Armani announced Ronaldo would be taking over from the ageing star.

Ronaldo is one of the sport’s hottest properties at the moment and will begin appearing in a new worldwide advertising campaign starting in spring 2010.
