La Liga: Atlético Madrid 1-1 Mallorca
Table of Contents
Atlético Madrid missed out on a golden opportunity to win for just the second time in La Liga this season after conceding an injury-time equaliser to nine-man Real Mallorca.
The hosts wasted the chance to go in front on 28 minutes when Diego Forlán missed from the penalty spot after Josemi was sent off for a second bookable offence following a handball.
Forlán made amends on 52 minutes by scoring from the spot after Iván Ramis was penalised for handball - a decision which saw him shown his second yellow card of the match.
Atlético could not kill the game off after that though and one minute into injury time, Mallorca snatched the equaliser when goalkeeper David de Gea deflected Borja Valero's low cross into his own net.
