Andriy Shevchenko's nightmare at Chelsea has came to an end after the striker signed a two-year deal at his former club Dynamo Kyiv.
The Ukrainian star failed to make an impact in the Premier League despite costing a club-record £30 million when he joined from AC Milan.
After spending last season on loan to Milan in a bid to return to form, Shevchenko returned to Stamford Bridge where he did not prominently feature in Carlo Ancelotti's plans.
The 32-year-old had 11 months remaining on his £121,000-a-week contract but after talks with the Blues owner Roman Abramovich, the club have agreed to release him.
A statement on Kyiv's website said: "Andriy Shevchenko has returned to his home country, agreeing a two-year contract with FC Dynamo Kyiv.
"The player will be officially presented at a press conference at the Valeriy Lobanovskyy stadium on Sunday 30 August at 15.00."
