Newly-promoted Serie A club Parma have signed Valeri Bojinov on a season long loan from Premier League outfit Manchester City.
The 23-year-old striker has found himself surplus to requirements with City having signed Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tévez and Emmanuel Adebayor this summer.
And Bojinov, who moved to City for £5.75 million from Fiorentina in 2007, is now back in Italy for the first time in two years.
He told a press conference at the Stadio Ennio Tardini: "Parma were the only team that wanted me and they did everything to have me here.
"I am happy and hope to have fun. I know the team are fantastic and I am in the right environment.
"Following my past injuries, I am hoping to do well. I understand Parma will give me great satisfaction this season and I hope to be fully ready for the start of the season."
The Bulgarian was once regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Europe after making his debut for Lecce when he was just 15.
However, since 2007 injuries have hampered his progress.
