Soccer ace David Beckham has admitted that he would love to go back to former club Manchester United.

The England star has recently gone back to the LA Galaxy after a loan stint at AC Milan, but his reception has been far from warm in the United States after the player himself hinted at wanting to stay in Italy.

Beckham was able to force his way back into the England squad during his time in Europe, and the 34-year-old realises his final chance at World Cup glory lies on this side of the Atlantic.

He told Zoo magazine: "I’d love to go back to United because they are the team I support.

"For me, they are the best fans in the world. They’re the best club I’ve played for, but I'm 34 years old now - I'm getting a little bit older.

"I was very successful there and made a lot of friends and for me they are the best fans in the world.

"Manchester United is always a team that any professional would want to play for."

Becks left United for Real Madrid in 2003 after his famous dressing room bust-up with Sir Alex Ferguson when the United boss kicked a boot which hit him in the face and required stitches.
