Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to fill the Bernabéu on Monday night when he is officially unveiled as Real Madrid’s latest signing.

Tuesday's unveiling of Kaká saw a huge media contingent and around 50,000 people turn up at the Bernabéu to welcome the Brazilian.

That is all set to be dwarfed on Monday night, though, when Ronaldo is introduced, with rumours in Madrid suggesting that the 80,000-seater stadium might well fill to capacity to welcome the ex-Manchester United star.

"It will be a very special day for my family, my friends and for me," Ronaldo said in an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca. "I only hope that things go well."

The FIFA World Player of the Year watched Kaká's presentation on television.

He added: "It was something impressive, magical, marvellous. I've seen many games where there has not been so many people in the stands.

"I don't think Kaká will ever forget that day. I hope I can experience a day as nice as Kaká did.

"To have 40,000, 50,000 or 60,000 people at your presentation is something incredible and special. I know that it's going to be a great moment in my life."
