Kaká off to Real Madrid for world transfer record

AC Milan star Kaká has agreed to join Real Madrid for a world record £62 million, according to reports in Spain and Italy.
It is claimed the deal was sealed following a long meeting between Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, Kaká's father, Bosco Leite, and newly-installed Real Florentino Pérez in Madrid on Tuesday.
The move will eclipse the £46 million Pérez paid Juventus for Zinedine Zidane in 2001.
Earlier on Tuesday Kaká tried to deny a deal was on, insisting he wanted to stay at the San Siro.
But the Spanish giants last night were convinced that the transfer will go through and that the former World Player of the Year will sign a five-year contract worth £7.8 million a season.
His image rights will be shared with Real in a deal very similar to that given to David Beckham in 2003.
In additon, Marca have suggested Kaká will be given the number 5 shirt which belonged to Zidane.
The speed of the deal is perhaps unexpected, but not altogether surprising as it allows Milan to move on.
With £62 million in the bank they will be able to overhaul the squad, which has often been criticised as over the hill.
