Brazilian star Kaká has paid tribute to former boss Carlo Ancelotti after the AC Milan coach agreed to take over at Chelsea.
Ancelotti has been Kaká's coach and mentor for the last six years and, according to the 2007 World Footballer of the Year, has made him the player he is today.
"It has been a very emotional day with the last games for Paolo Maldini and Ancelotti," said Kaká after the 2-0 victory at Fiorentina.
"Ancelotti is someone I am very close to after these six years together at Milan. I am grateful for all he has done for me and all the lessons I learned.
"He gave me the opportunity to be known as a player on the world stage and I won so much with his guidance. I wish him all the best for everything."
Although not explicitly naming him, Ancelotti hinted that leaving Kaká behind will be his biggest regret about leaving the San Siro.
"There is one player I would like to take, but I cannot take him with me," he said.
