Barcelona forward Thierry Henry hailed his side's Champions League triumph as "doubly special" - because he won the long-awaited trophy on his daughter's birthday.

The French striker put in a solid performance for the Catalans giants who ended Manchester United's dreams of back-to-back Champions League victories.

And with the Copa del Rey and La Liga title already wrapped up, Barcelona have now become the most successful club side in the Spanish football history.

"It's unbelievable," a joyful Henry told Sky Sports 1 after the match.

"I have no words to describe what we have done this year, what we have achieved.

"No team have ever done the treble in Spain - we are the first ones to do it so it's amazing.

"And it is doubly special for me to win because it is my daughter's birthday."

Henry's little girl, Tea, turned four on Wednesday.
