Anderson: Fergie is our Big Daddy

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has highlighted the bond created by Sir Alex Ferguson between the players as key to their success.

The 21-year-old Brazilian ace has shone this season under the Scot, who he reckons is like father to United's young stars.

"He is the Big Daddy, especially to the young players," Anderson is quoted by The Sun as saying.

"He supports them and gives them the maturity needed to achieve things. Above all, he trusts them.

"Basically he tries to keep everybody happy. He has created a big family I feel very comfortable with.

"We are all good friends. It is why Manchester United is the greatest team in the world."

And ahead of Wednesday's Champions League final, Anderson, who is yet to score in open play in 73 competitive appearances for United, has promised an unforgettable celebration if he finds the back of the net against Barcelona.

He said: "I will strip naked and run around the stadium if I score in the final.

"I have already scored two goals - but they were penalties."

Anderson's only goals have come in the penalty shoot-outs that led to Champions League triumph over Chelsea last season and in the Carling Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur in March.
