Ryan Giggs, the most decorated player in English football history, reached yet another milestone in his already impressive career, playing his 800th match for Manchester United on Wednesday - three days after picking up the PFA Player of the Year prize.

The 35-year-old Welshman came on as a substitute for Anderson in the 67th minute of the 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal, 18 years after making his debut in March 1991.

"If you asked me when I was 19, 'Would you be playing in a Champions League semifinal at 35?' I would have said, 'No,'" Giggs said ahead of the match.

"But I look after myself and it helps when you have good players around you."

He added: "I was missing a lot of games through hamstrings. It helps that I'm not as quick as I used to be so I'm not getting the hamstring injuries. I'm not playing as many games so all those things help.

"Yoga has definitely helped me with my hamstring injuries and generally how I feel. I feel fresh during games."

Giggs, who is contracted to the Red Devils until June 2010, has won 10 Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, four FA Cups and three League Cups with them.
