Juventus have officially terminated the contract of Portuguese defender Jorge Andrade after being given the green light by the Italian football league (Lega Calcio).
The 30-year-old joined the Bianconeri from Deportivo La Coruña for about €10 million in 2007, but he suffered two serious knee injuries which have left him largely on the sidelines. During the time he made only four appearances for the Old Lady.
Juventus asked the Lega Calcio for permission to rescind the player's contract and received consent.
"Juventus and Jorge Almeida Gomes de Andrade have reached an agreement to mutually resolve their professional relationship," a statement on the club's official website reads.
"Therefore the player will be released from his contract and will be free to find another club.
"Juventus would like to wish him all the very best for his career at club and international level."
