Inter Milan veteran goalkeeper Francesco Toldo has signed a new deal that will keep him at San Siro until 2011.
The former Azzurri custodian has been playing second fiddle to Brazilian international Júlio César for the past three season, while his current was set to expire this summer.
That had led to speculation suggesting Toldo would be on his way out of the Nerazzurri at the end of the season.
However, Inter have decided to reward the 37-year-old with a contract that will last for the rest of his playing career
"I am proud because this is a record at Inter - a new two-year deal for a 37-year-old," Toldo told Inter's official website.
"I owe the club a sincere thank you for this show of faith and esteem and I will continue to repay them as I always have.
"Mentally and physically I feel able to do a job and I will give my all to help the club achieve their goals."
