Eto’o rubbishes transfer rumours

Samuel Eto'o has stated that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona in the near future and has accused the media of twisting his words.
The 27-year-old striker hit the headlines this week over his statements to Sportweek magazine where he reportedly said he had made a decision about his future - without revealing what it was - and in the subsequent days after the news broke he was closely linked in the media with a move to AC Milan.
But Eto'o insists that his words were misinterpreted and taken out of context.
Speaking to reporters after Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Espanyol, Eto'o said, "Many foolish things have been said, and it seems like there is an interest in creating problems when there aren't any.
"It has been forgotten that I have a contract until 2010, and that when I started this project with (Pep) Guardiola, it was not just for one season.
"I've no desire to leave Barça and I don't think they have any desire to sell me.
"You (journalists) have built this up. You wanted to stir up controversy. You've been talking as if my contract ended in June.
"You should leave us alone to work in peace. You've created an unnecessary controversy."
