AC Milan have denied rumours that the Arab group that own Manchester City will purchase 40 percent stake of the club.
Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera claimed on Tuesday that The Abu Dhabi United Group, which is controlled by City owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan, was keen to secure a stake in the Serie A outfit. The paper did not cite any sources, but said the offer would be €500 million.
However, Milan and club president Silvio Berlusconi's Fininvest holding company have denied that any such talks are taking place.
A statement said: "In relation to what has been published this morning in Corriere della Sera about a possible sale of part of the club, Fininvest and AC Milan announce that there is no truth in the stories."
A Fininvest statement said: "Fininvest Spa, which controls AC Milan, denies in the most categorical manner press speculation concerning possible changes to the football club's assets. This is a journalistic hypothesis without any basis."
