Italy defender Massimo Oddo has indicated that he would like to stay with Bayern Munich after his loan period expires in the summer.

The 32-year-old joined Bayern on a season-long loan deal from AC Milan last August and has since made 12 Bundesliga and five Champions League appearances for the Bavarians.

Oddo, a member of Italy's World Cup-winning team in 2006, has thrived in the Bundesliga after a tough season in Serie A and has regained his place in the Nazionale.

He is due to return to Milan at the end of the season, but it seems that he would happy to stay in Munich.

He told the club's website: "I think my time here has been an experience for me, both as a player and as a person.

"I feel really happy in Munich and with FC Bayern. We have a good team with lots of good players.

"We also have a great team spirit and all get on well with each other.

"In Italy there are normally only three or maybe four teams who can challenge to become champion, but there are lots more here and the league is more open and exciting.

"My loan deal ends in the summer and I could easily imagine myself staying in Munich, but I cannot make that decision by myself. That has got to be made by the club, the coach and the management."
