AS Roma defender Philippe Mexès has declared his ambition to emulate what Paolo Maldini does with AC Milan.
The 26-year-old has overcome all the difficulties in his first season in Serie A to become a key figure at the back for the Giallorossi.
Mexès has regularly been linked with Milan over the last few months, but there has never been any concrete bid.
"I want to become Roma's Maldini," Mexès said during an interview in program Telefoot on French channel TF1.
"It would be great to represent to Roma fans what Paolo does to Milan supporters.
"I have had no contact with Milan. I am very happy with the Lupi, even if you never know what will happen in football."
