Under-fire Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster suffered another huge blow as his side went down in a seven-goal thriller 4-3 to Sevilla at the Bernabéu.
Real, who lost 3-1 at Getafe last weekend, staged a magnificent second-half comeback to level the scores up at 3-3 having trailed 3-1 and been booed at half-time.
The hosts fell behind after only three minutes as Adriano pounced home after Iker Casillas had failed to cut out a right-wing cross.
But they were back on level terms in the 18th minute when skipper Raúl got on the end of Guti's curling free-kick to glance a header low past Andrés Palop.
Sevilla restored the lead through Ndri Romaric four minutes later and Real found themselves 3-1 down just before the break when Frédéric Kanouté scored.
However, the champions staged a brilliant second half comeback to level the scores as Gonzalo Higuaín started the recovery by firing a low drive on 67 minutes before Fernando Gago made it 3-3 two minutes later.
But the sending-off of the hugely-impressive Arjen Robben in the 77th minute was a massive blow for Los Merengues, and eight minutes after that Renato headed home the winner for the Andalusian side.
This defeat not only drops the champions down to fifth place but also puts them under even more pressure ahead of their trip to the Nou Camp next weekend.
