Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has been named as the Barclays Premier League's Player of the Month for October.
The prize is reward for a string of scintillating performances capped by his sublime in his side's 3-0 win over Hull City, an early contender for goal of the season.
It is the first time in three years the England international has won the monthly award.
Lampard is the second Chelsea player to win the award this season, after Deco won August's prize.
The 30-year-old has now won the award three times, just one behind a group of six players - including Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney - who have taken the monthly accolade on four occasions.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez picked up the manager of the month award.
The Spanish gaffer led the Merseysiders to a perfect four wins out of four, in the process ending Chelsea's 86-match unbeaten home record, scoring eight goals and conceding six.
Manchester City and Wigan were also beaten by the Reds after thrilling comebacks, while Portsmouth were defeated at Anfield.
Benitez has now won the award on four occasions, but has a long way to go to catch all-time record holder Sir Alex Ferguson, who has won the award 21 times in his stellar career.
