Jose Barkero(pen) 90 | Diego Forlán 33 |
Struggling Numancia netted a last-gasp penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to sixth placed Atlético Madrid.
Atlético went ahead after 33 minutes when Simão Sabrosa threaded a superb through ball to Diego Forlán who fired home beyond Numancia goalkeeper Juan Pablo Colinas.
But Sergio Krešić's men pressed for an equaliser with three chances hitting the woodwork in the second half.
Sergio Ortega was the first player to be denied by the woodwork when his header in the 66th minute crashed against the frame of the goal.
Txomin Nagore saw his right-footed effort struck the post nine minutes later, before Gorka Brit did the same just as the match was entering injury time.
Asier Goiria also had a header controversially cleared from under the bar by Atlético goalkeeper Leo Franco which looked like it might have crossed the goal line.
Numancia were finally rewarded for their efforts though, with José Barkero slotting home from the penalty spot in the fifth minute of added time after Brit had been fouled by Luis Perea at the far post.
Atlético will feel hugely disappointed to have lost two points in such a fashion, but the draw was nothing more than Numancia deserved.
Barcelona's nine match winning streak in La Liga came to an end after the leaders were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Getafe.
Getafe proved to be stubborn opposition and took the lead after 19 minutes as Manu del Moral curled in a low shot from 25 yards.
Samuel Eto'o almost snapped an equaliser before the break but saw his effort from long range rebound off the crossbar.
The Catalans pushed for the leveler and were eventually rewarded in the 71st minute when Mali midfielder Seydou Keita headed home Daniel Alves' cross from close range.
Barça then dominated to the final whistle, with Thierry Henry and Carles Puyol both heading wide from close range.
Gerard Piqué came closest with a header in the 80th minute, but Getafe goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri produced a fine save to deny the defender.
Barcelona now lead the table with 29 points, three points ahead of second placed Real Madrid and four in front of Villarreal.
